Dont accept the ordinary...Demand the Extraordinary!
That was the battle cry of OFFWORLD! A little magazine which I self-published.
With the help of too long time friends, Arnaldo Lopez and Tony Williams. I attempted the unheard of by trying to publish a quality magazine in the science fiction market. OFFWORLD as it became known was first conceived as a showcase to best promote our abilities. Which it did. The first two editions featured Tony Williams beautiful illustrations and Arnaldo Lopezs (under an alias) great writing. As well as my own illustrations. But as the concept grew, OFFWORLD matured into its own creation. An illustrated science fiction and fantasy publication. Geared towards readers of great fiction and lovers of fantastic imagery.
And what seperated it from all the other titles in the sci fi/fantasy field which came before it and/or sadly since was that all of its material was brand spanking new. Specifically In the case of its images created for the magazine. None of the stories which were featured in the magazine had ever been published before.
By designing it comic book sized. The goal was to expand the science fiction market. By using the amazing illustrative abilities of some of the top artists in the comic book field it was our intention to shake up the industry. Making quality an issue. Throwing budgets out the window we attempted to show that people would prefer a better mouse trap. And if it worked, it possibly could change the face of the science fiction genre forever.
And worked...it did! The feedback was wonderful. The talented artists and writed that contacted us loved what we were attempting. And the fans of both genres seemed to agree.
Even the SciFi Channel took notice! Choosing OFFWORLD as its best bet in the field!
OFFWORLD was a rousing success.
Unfortunately because of circumstances beyond our control, only two editons were published. Leaving many new stories waiting to be read and beautiful art sitting on the shelf. Including the 3rd cover illustration by the great Vincent Di Fate.
The magazine featured original stories and art, a tribute section to one the greats of the medium, posters and articles. With the talents of both the comic book, illustration and the science fiction world. For each new story we included full color and black & white images. A centerfold poster of the cover iillustration. An illustrated poem. Plus much, much more!
Only 5000 copies were printed of each 64 page publication. Plus as a bonus, there were no advertisements.
Please check out the link below to the OFFWORLD GALLERY SECTION, which demonstrates the quality that I have been discussing.
If you would like to get a copy of either or both editions. Please e-mail me your request.
Each copy is available for just $15. plus shipping and handling. We will only be accepting bank checks or money-orders, no personal checks. Sorry if this is an inconvenience. If interested, please e-mail me for further information.

Plans are in the works to revive OFFWORLD, this time on-line. So keep coming back for new updates. It is our goal to showcase all of the great fiction and illustration that was promised to the readers of the first version of the magazine.
To the amazing talents who agreed to work with us, and of course to the readers of our little publication. We apoligize for disappearing (like we did) off what seemed to be the face of the Earth. But thems the brakes in the evil world of publishing. People, and we are talking creative individuals in the science fiction field working at the top publications told us what we were attempting wasn't possible. We didn't believe them. We still don't. Unfortunately, it seemed my concept was born too early. It seems that it was waiting for the new Millenium.
So...If you are a talent that was involved with the magazine and/or you would like to be featured in the future of OFFWORLD, please stay tuned. To all the wonderful artists & writers whose stories and art we commissioned but never published, a big apoligy, but...we will be presenting all the talent that originally was slated to appear in OFFWORLD issues #s 3-10 as soon as we can. And since OFFWORLD now will be presented on-line. The visual aspects of the magazine wlll expand even our further then our fervent imaginations conceived.
If you are a fan of the genre...get ready. As our promotional tag line prounded stated
Dont accept the ordinary...Demand the Extraordinary! We meant it then, we mean even more now!
Sincerely
Neil Feigeles
